When They See Us has been released by Netflix, and the reaction to the series on social media has been overwhelming. Ava DuVernay’s latest project has struck a nerve, and the response reflects just that. Here’s some of what we found on twitter –
Finally finished @WhenTheySeeUs and it was traumatic, painful, reflective, convincing, and most of all a reminder of how the lives of 5 boys was forever changed by the unjust criminal justice system. We have work to do because much hasn’t changed since 1989. Thank you @ava

The response seems to be overwhelmingly positive, and what was striking is that it seems this series has people conversing on social media about some pretty important topics. Seeing this was amazing because it seems the purpose of this show is being realized.
